We want to support initiatives which contribute to the protection, enhancement and celebration of the cultural heritage assets of southern Dorset, with a focus not only on the outstanding features of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site but also on the towns and villages, landscapes and wildlife of the inland countryside and Portland. All projects must be able to demonstrate a benefit to the wider local economy.
Types of projects we want to fund:
Celebrate Rural Dorset. Projects which enhance, restore and upgrade the cultural and natural heritage of villages and rural landscapes and high value nature sites, this includes the construction and or restoration of buildings for community and cultural activities and events.
The Culture and Heritage priority is for projects that make no charge. Projects that generate an income should apply under either rural tourism or rural services.
Celebrate, conserve and add value to our special natural, historic and cultural heritage, Encourage collaboration and cooperative working
Support for cultural and heritage activity
Minimum grant approximately £5,000 Maximum grant approximately £140,000. The Culture and Heritage priority is for projects that make no charge. Projects that generate an income should apply under either rural tourism or rural services.
